Privacy policy.
How JulieVCE collects, stores and protects the personal information you share when enquiring or booking — written plainly, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Who we are
JulieVCE Makeup & Hairstylist ("JulieVCE", "we", "us") is a sole-trader mobile beauty business operated by Juliana, based in Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia (ABN 20 611 497 745). We provide bridal, formal and editorial makeup and hairstyling services across South East Queensland.
This policy covers all personal information we collect through our website (julievce.com.au), our booking platform, email, social media, and in-person consultations.
2. What information we collect
We collect only the information needed to respond to your enquiry, deliver your booking, and meet our legal obligations. This typically includes:
- Identity & contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and (where relevant) the names of others in your bridal or wedding party.
- Booking details — your event date, venue address, service selected, party size, ready-by time, and any access notes you share.
- Payment information — handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. We only see a transaction reference and the amount paid.
- Sensitive information you choose to share — for example, allergies, sensitivities, or skin conditions you tell us about so we can prepare safely. We treat this as confidential and only use it to deliver your service.
- Photographs — of work completed (before/after, finished looks). See Terms § 9 — Photography & portfolio.
- Website usage — basic analytics (pages visited, approximate location, device type) collected via Google Analytics 4, and advertising measurement via the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Both are loaded only after you accept the corresponding cookies in our consent banner. See § 8 for details.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and discuss your booking.
- Confirm your appointment and send reminders.
- Plan and deliver your service safely (timing, venue access, allergy notes).
- Process your deposit and final invoice.
- Maintain records as required by Australian tax and consumer law.
- Improve our services and respond to feedback.
- Occasionally feature work in our portfolio or social media — only with your explicit consent (see Terms § 9).
We do not sell your information to anyone. We do not use it for marketing without your permission.
4. Third-party services we use
To run the business we share necessary information with the following providers, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Cal.com — booking platform. Stores your name, email, event details and booking notes. cal.com/privacy
- Stripe — payment processor. Handles your card details directly; we never receive them. stripe.com/au/privacy
- Google — Google Calendar (for our booking diary), Google Maps (for travel-fee estimation when you enter a venue address), Google Workspace email, and Google Analytics 4 for website analytics (only loaded with your consent — see § 8). policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta Platforms — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for measuring the effectiveness of any Facebook or Instagram advertising we run, and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. Only loaded with your consent — see § 8. facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Web hosting — our website is hosted by a reputable provider that stores standard server logs.
Some of these services may store data outside Australia. Where they do, they are bound by their own privacy frameworks (typically GDPR-equivalent or stricter).
5. When we share information
We only share your personal information when:
- It is necessary to deliver the service (e.g. confirming venue access with a wedding co-ordinator you have introduced us to).
- You have explicitly consented (e.g. featuring your finished look on Instagram).
- We are required by Australian law (e.g. tax records, court orders).
6. How long we keep it & security
We keep booking and invoice records for at least seven (7) years as required by the Australian Tax Office. Other personal information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose collected, then securely deleted.
We protect your information using reasonable industry-standard measures: encrypted email, password-protected devices, multi-factor authentication on key services, and limiting access to Juliana only.
7. Your rights under Australian law
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to update information that is wrong or out of date.
- Withdraw consent — for example, ask us to remove your photo from our portfolio or social media.
- Complain — to us first (we will respond within 30 days), and if not satisfied, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@julievce.com.au.
8. Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies on this site, grouped into three categories:
Strictly necessary
Set by Google Maps when you use the venue-address autocomplete on the booking page, and by Cal.com when you open the booking modal. These are required for those features to work and load only when you interact with them. They are not optional and not used for advertising.
Analytics — with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) so we can improve it. IP addresses are anonymised and event data is retained for 14 months. GA4 loads only after you accept analytics cookies via our consent banner. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on for a permanent opt-out across all sites.
Advertising — with your consent
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of any Facebook or Instagram advertising we run, and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. The Pixel loads only after you accept advertising cookies via our consent banner. You can review and change your ad preferences directly with Meta at facebook.com/adpreferences.
How to change your choice
When you first visit our site we ask for consent via a banner at the bottom of the page. You can change your decision at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the site footer, or by clearing the julievce_consent cookie / localStorage entry in your browser. You can also disable cookies entirely in your browser settings, though doing so may affect the booking-page features that depend on the strictly-necessary cookies above.
If you decline
Strictly-necessary cookies will still load when you actively use the booking or venue-address features (they are not optional for those features to work). No analytics or advertising cookies will be set, and no data will be sent to Google Analytics or Meta.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adult clients, or for minors booking with the explicit consent and presence of a parent or guardian (e.g. school-formal makeup). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16 except in this context.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after a change indicates your acceptance.
